Area Information: The town of Pomorie has a population of 15,000, and is situated on a narrow and rocky peninsula, bordered by the sea on one side and the Pomorie lake on the other. Pomorie dates back to the fourth century BC. It is situated some 11 miles north of Bourgas and roughly the same distance south of Nessebar. Besides its lovely beaches, the town appeals to tourists with its mud-cure sanatorium a mile away on the banks of the lake.
