Yet another ambitious project for a large luxurious spa hotel has been approved, and currently pending official permission to commence construction. The new establishment is set to meet the criteria of a five-star hotel, and will be located at the foot of the Rhodope Mountain, in the borough of Chepino, the town of Velingrad.Velingrad has long held the tradition of being one of the forerunners in Bulgaria's spa industry. Being one of the best endowed locations for spa and thermal springs in Bulgaria, the town has a tradition for holiday hotels that are attached to the fast growing spa industry. The new luxury establishment is perched near a large mineral spring which is the focus of the development of the entire complex around it.The main investor in the project is Health and Wellness, whereas the actual design was developed by chief architect Stefan Dobrev from the Architecture and Design firm. The consultant company is Boil Consult Ltd.Given the vertical prominence of 16 m of the parcel upon which the hotel is to be build, the designers had to come up with an original solution for the building in order to achieve the desired effect. The plot itself is 13 000 sq m in area but due to the sloping terrain, in order for the hotel rooms to receive the best possible sun exposure, the building, as well as the hotel-apartments to the southeast, have been designed in an amphitheatre composition - guaranteeing a panoramic view to the pine forest, as well as offering a larger southern exposure. The hotel will have spacious flats and suites, a swimming pool, stores and an outdoors carpark.
