Bulgarian Loses Serbian Tourists Because Of Kosovo
After the recognition of independent Kosovo Bulgaria has no chance to get back the Serbian tourists, partly already lost due to the visas for Serbians and now finally dismissed, the chairman of State Agency of Tourism Anelia Krushkova said.
In her words, mostly affected will be the owners of smaller hotels, because the Serbian tourists used to put up mainly there.
186,000 Serbian tourists used to come yearly, last year 76% of them renounced to come last year, really too less Serbians chose to spend their vacation in Bulgaria, Krushkova commented.
This year I can't prognosticate how many would come, especially after the insulting for them act of Bulgarian's recognition of Kosovo. There was big interest from Serbians and Macedonians in the beginning of the year.
Lots of problems occurred with the transport of Bulgarians through the territory of Serbia and there's no way this not to affect the other tourists, who pass thorough the territory of Serbia. Slovenians, Croatians, Hungarians, Poles and Czechs also have to pass through the territory of Serbia to be guests of Bulgaria.
