The Bulgarian State Enterprise "Air Traffic Service Authority" received Wednesday a certificate for adherence to international standards, quality air navigation services, direction of air traffic and employee training. The certificate is seen as evidence that the State Enterprise services entirely correspond to the European Commission's standards. The Enterprise's leadership had prepared its own policy for better effectiveness aligned with Brussels's idea to create a "united European sky" where air travel safety is seen as number one priority. The certificate was received by Emanuil Radev, Director of "Air Traffic Service Authority." Bulgaria's Transportation Minister Petar Mutafchiev was also present at the ceremony. According to the Minister the document was proof of the security and safety of Bulgarian air travel. Mutafchiev also stated that he was expecting that the EC would lift the safeguard clause for the Bulgarian aviation in the very near future, without committing to a fixed deadline.
