The fields pull up the property market in Bulgaria

Although traditionally the first three months of the year are the weakest for the property market during the period January-March 2013, the real estate sales have jumped as much as 14.5 percent on an annual basis.

The serious increase is due mainly to the land transactions, which already reaches about 2/3 of the total sales.

The most common buyers of agricultural land are different funds which merge the bought fields and rent them on lease.

Private Bulgarian producers are also interested in lands, there is also serious interest from abroad, although there is still no real deals.

There is trend of small business owners who sell their land to buy homes, which became more noticeable lately.

The most wanted and most expensive are the fields in Dobrogea and Central Bulgaria, where is the highest produce.

A bit cheaper is the agricultural land in some of the southern areas of Bulgaria such as Haskovo and Yambol.

However the data from the housing market in Bulgaria is not so optimistic. Despite the moving in the last few weeks, it appears that the market is far from satisfying the customers demand.

Currently there is a huge deficit of quality properties on the market. The reason is that the homeowners do not want to sell their properties for less and are waiting for prices to rise.
