According to data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI), Sofia seriously is lagging in the new housing construction compared to other major cities in the country.
In the capital during the second quarter have been placed in service 16 new residential buildings.
More active is the construction is Sofia region, where emerging new residential buildings are 44, and dwellings in them - 53.
At the same time, Varna and Bourgas are emerging as leaders in housing, given the recovery in the property market on the Black Sea, which communicate to agencies-intermediaries.
In Varna region for the period April-June were put into exploitation 121 buildings with 600 dwellings in them and in Bourgas - 105 buildings with 1 001 housing. The newly built and put into service residential buildings are 48 with a total of 179 residences.
Entered into service in the second quarter, new buildings are 561 - 9 more relative to the same quarter of last year, the dwellings are 2 630, with 134 more on an annual basis.
Statistical data show that put into operation are mostly houses - close to 70 percent of all new residential buildings, put into operation. Almost 19% is the share of the newly-built residential buildings, on an annual basis is monitoring growth of 32 houses and 13 respectively residential blocks.
The newly built and commissioned villas and mixed-use buildings are reduced - 29 and 8 respectively.
Nearly half of the newly built and put into service are 2 - room apartments and close to 30 percent are with 3 rooms. On an annual basis, growth has been reported in 2-bedroom and one bedroom apartments, while apartments with six or more rooms reported a decline.
The total useful floor area of all newly built homes in the second quarter of 2013 is 213,2 thousand sq. m, or with 0.6% more compared with the same quarter of 2012. The living area also increased by 2% and reached 139,3 thousand sq. m.
However, the average useful floor area of one dwelling is reduced -from 84,9 sq. m in the second quarter of 2012 to 81,1 sq. m in the same quarter of 2013.
